New WhatsApp Will Stop Working on These Phones After Today
Yes, WhatsApp will stop working on some of the phones. The Facebook messaging platform had previously announced that the company would be ending its app support for several phones post-December 31, 2018. The day has finally come. After today, December 31, WhatsApp will not work on some Blackberry, Android, Windows and iPhones. The phones that will no longer support WhatsApp include BlackBerry 10, BlackBerry OS, Nokia Symbian S60, Windows Phone 8.0, Nokia S40, Android versions older than 2.3.7, iPhone iOS 7 and older iOS versions. This means smartphones users who have new phones need not to worry because WhatsApp will not stop its service for them. Also, WhatsApp stopping its service for these phones will not affect a lot of people because there are hardly any users who use smartphones so old.

We have been hearing about WhatsApp stopping its service for a slew of Android, Windows and iPhones. The day has now come. Starting tomorrow, January 1, users using any of the phones above or models will not be able to use WhatsApp send New Year messages to their friends and family. The Facebook-owned messaging platform has confirmed that it no longer invests in developing services for these platforms including BlackBerry 10, BlackBerry OS, Nokia Symbian S60, Windows Phone 8.0, Nokia S40, Android versions older than 2.3.7, iPhone version older than iOS 7 version. The company also said that its service would stop working on these phones by the end of 2020.
WhatsApp also mentions that phones running on Nokia S40 will not support WhatsApp services any longer and the service will end after December 31. To recollect, the service was officially ended in the month of June this year, but after the users of these phones got panicked WhatsApp decided to extend the service by until December 31.
