New Official Picture of Nokia 9 PureView Leaks, Launch Tipped for January

The next Nokia from HMD Global that’s going to be official is the Nokia 9. The smartphone is expected to come with PureView branding and hence reports suggest that HMD could call it Nokia 9 PureView than just Nokia 9. Some reports suggest that the Nokia 9 could launch in January, but as of now, there’s no official statement from the company yet. Now an official looking picture of the Nokia 9 PureView has been leaked by popular leakster Evan Blass, which also hint at the imminent launch. January launch of the Nokia 9 PureView is highly possible.

The Nokia 9 is one of the most rumoured phones from HMD. It is because the phone is tipped to come with five rear cameras. Leaked pictures and renders have shown the Penta camera setup of the phone time and again. The newly leaked official looking picture also shows the same. The picture shows the Nokia 9 PureView with glass back, five cameras on the rear panel. The picture shows the phone not just from the back side but also reveal the front design.

Nokia 9 PureView Image Leaks

The Nokia 9 PureView will not be a notched display like some of the recently launched Nokia phones like Nokia 8.1, Nokia 7.1 and the rest. The picture shows that the phone will come with slim bezels on the sides, where the top bezel will include a single selfie camera, earpiece and some sensors. In the leaked picture, the Nokia phone appears in blue, we expect there could be other colours variants too.

The picture also revealed that the Nokia 9 PureView would not come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, instead the phone will – like some of the newly launched Android phones – will sport an in-display fingerprint sensor. This, if true, will make the Nokia 9 PureView the first in-display fingerprint sensor phone from HMD.

Additionally, the picture also reveals that like all the recently launched Nokia phones the Nokia 9 PureView will also be running on Google’s Android One programme which means that the phone will get two years of Android OS update. In other words, the Nokia 9 PureView will be upgraded to Android Q and Android R. The phone is expected to launch running on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box like the Nokia 8.1, which was the first phone from HMD Global to come with Pie out-of-the-box.

Nokia 9 PureView: Rumoured Specifications

A lot has already been rumoured about the Nokia 9 PureView and we already know everything about the phone by now. The Nokia 9 is said to feature full-screen Full HD+ or Quad HD+ panel with slimmer bezels. Previously, on the hardware front the Nokia 9 was tipped to come with Snapdragon 845 chipset, but now rumours suggest that it could be the first phone from HMD to come with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855. The camera specs are yet to be revealed by the company yet.
