    Dial + (country code) (local number)
  • Calls and messages to Canada and many Caribbean countries
    Dial 1 (area code) (local number)

Making calls and sending messages while outside the U.S.

  • Calls and messages to the U.S.
    Dial + 1 (area code) (local number)
  • Calls and messages to another country
    Dial + (country code) (local number)

Tips

  • With most GSM phones, the + key will appear if you press and hold the 0 key.
  • While abroad, the country code to call back to the U.S. is 1.
  • If you have enabled a Wi-Fi Calling capable phone and are connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can call back to the U.S. at no additional charge. (Does not include calls to 411 and other premium numbers).

Create a voicemail authentication code

Your authentication code is different than your voicemail PIN. Your PIN is the six-digit code used to retrieve your messages. Your authentication code is used to recover or reset your PIN. Like any PIN or password, keep your authentication code in a secure place.

Ensure your voicemail PIN is set up before creating an authentication code. You’ll need your authentication code when setting up voicemail.

Follow This Steps

Set up your authentication code by phone

  1. Dial*98 from your home phone.
  2. Press4 for Mailbox Settings.
  3. Press2 for Administrative Options.
  4. Press1 for Security and Hands-Free.
  5. Press4 for Authentication Code.
  6. Press1 to Create or Change.
  7. Select which birthday to enter:
    • Mother – press1
    • Father – press2
    • Spouse – press3
    • Child – press4
  8. Enter the 8-digit date of birth (MMDDYYYY).
  9. Re-enter the 8-digit date to confirm. This returns you to the Security Options menu.
